The relationship between Elon Musk and Dogecoin began with humorous tweets in 2019, but quickly became something much bigger. Elon has repeatedly expressed his love for Dogecoin, calling it "the people's crypto" and becoming its most famous advocate.
His influence has been such that every tweet about DOGE has moved markets, earning him the nickname "Dogefather". In May 2021, Elon appeared on Saturday Night Live where he talked about Dogecoin, an iconic moment that became etched in cryptocurrency history.
Tesla began accepting Dogecoin as payment for merchandise in 2022, and SpaceX announced the DOGE-1 mission to the Moon, funded entirely with Dogecoin.
